Supplying Nutritional Value

Harmony Village

Our Food Program is now all about Nutrition

Our Bags of Hope program began with the idea of providing good food to families in need, and assisting others who live in designated food deserts. Since its inception, the Food Program distributed gift cards for grocery stores, coordinated food giveaway events and delivered door-to-door bags of food and supplies.

In 2025, we will expand our program and take a closer look at what we are serving to the community and what we can do to ensure that we are providing food that has nutritional value. We do not want to distribute food that can contribute to the health disparities that already exist including childhood obesity and diabetes.

This change in vision for the program, allows ACF to partner with organizations that can help us build our resources and create a positive connection to the food we buy, grow and eat. Harmony Village will be one of the largest initiatives that we will undertake as an organization and we are so excited about the partnerships and sponsorships that will be created from building such a plan for the future.

Harmony Village is a transformative community initiative focused on food, health, and education. Situated on 24 acres, this farm will offer programs to engage and empower families.

Housing Programs

When we are connected to people who have a need, one of their first priorities is knowing where their next meal will come from. Our food program addresses their needs by creating initiatives that meet people where they are. Our Bags of Hope campaign reaches children and families through food distribution at least three times a year. With the assistance of corporate and individual sponsors, we are able to fill bags with food as well as give the families gift cards to local grocery

We are also working to create access to food in areas where there is less fresh food available. By partnering with local communities gardens and other sources, we can support their efforts in two ways by connecting them to those in need who can benefit from maintaining their own gardens and by providing financial support to expand or maintain the gardens.

We are committed to doing all we can to make sure that children and families don’t have to worry about food, even internationally. In several countries in Africa and The Bahamas, we have supported organizations who feed and care for children in orphanages as well as those who have coordinated food banks, food distribution events and special occasion meals, like Christmas.
